Karina Ivanova (born 5 May 1988) is a Russian actress, model and singer. Ivanova is of Greek and Russian descent and she is one of OK Magazine’s Russia “50 Most Beautiful People”. Her mother is a ballet choreographer, and her father is a Russian rock star. Karina attended classical ballet college and later became involved in contemporary choreography in The Russian Imperial Ballet. Karina also attended horseback riding school, successfully graduated from music school and was taking private classes of jazz vocal for 5 years. In 2008 Karina graduated from The Russian Academy of Theatre Arts. The same year she moved to New York to continue her studies at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Karina began her modeling career when she was eight years old doing commercials, photoshoots, music videos and runway later. But at age of thirteen her interest in acting began to dominate. Karina explained it later: “When I first started the most attracting fact in modeling was to be able to transform into somebody else. For me, as a child, every photoshoot was a small story and a part I needed to play. But as I grew up it led me to serious acting”.
Karina had supporting roles in “It Is Not My Fault” movie and in television series “Code of Honor”. Next year she played in the highly discussed movie “Reprise” about the horrible repressions during Stalin’s era, which won the Grand Prix at the “Golden Hobbyhorse” (“Zolotoy Konek”) for Best Director and Best Producer.
