I was born on January 5, 1973 in Hong Kong, China. I left China when I was only three years old, and was adopted by my grandparents, who I now call “Mom and Dad”. I was raised by my great grandmother, who is tattooed on my ribcage; she passed away when I was fifteen. This tattoo of her is my most memorable piece. The portrait is done by Chuey and the surrounding art is done by James Mullin at Lotus Tattoo. I got my first tattoo when I was twenty-eight years old. It was a dragon coming out of my upper back and the claws are holding my mother and grandmother’s names. The reason I started getting tattoos at a later age was because I always thought gangsters, drug addicts, and people in jail had tattoos; a notion I no longer believe. All my tattoos represent my Chinese heritage except one. I have two flags on my body, the Chinese Flag, since I was born there, and then the U.S. Flag under the other, because I was raised in the U.S.A. James Mullin did the Chinese flag and Ryan Yeankle did the U.S. flag. I also have the terracotta warriors on my arms. On my rib cage is General Kwan, the God of War and Prosperity. My leg has a Buddha in front of the Shaolin Temple with Foo Dogs, Koi Fish, and a tiger, all done by James Mullin. My most recent tattoo is my Buddhist prayer on my neckline that says, “Buddha with your great power. I pray for your blessing and protection for my loved ones,”
